The executive team of Foundation Systems cumulatively has over 80 years of staffing industry experience. They have focused on supporting the VMS market the last several years and the feedback from their VMS customers has shaped their philosophy on how to best serve it. They manage our team of Account Managers, Recruiters and Contractor Care Support Specialists dedicated to our VMS clients and their end Fortune 1000 clients.

 

Jeannine Solanto, Founder & CEO, Foundation Systems, Inc.
Jeannine Solanto founded Foundation Systems in 1999 and was riding high on contractor placements until the market turned in 2001. Holding on by a thread, she had to find a way to keep her staffing business alive through the industry's worst downturn in two decades. What made matters worse was her business was all tied into low margin VMS accounts!

Determined to succeed, and as a result of hard work and strategic foresight, in 2003, Ms. Solanto decided to shift recruiting activities to India in order to lower operating costs and increase recruiting efficiencies. In July 2005 she launched Foundation Systems Staffing Pvt. Ltd. in Bangalore, India which now employs over 30 full-time recruiters. Utilizing VoIP and web-based technology, Ms. Solanto flattened the globe and runs a profitable VMS staffing operation. Her service was most recently noted as the top 1 performing vendor out of 40 at a Fortune 100 VMS client.

Foundation's continued success has landed them rankings as the "Top 25 Staffing Firms" in Silicon Valley, "Top 100 Woman-owned Businesses", and the "Top 50 Best Places to Work" by Deloitte. Ms. Solanto has spoken at numerous national staffing conferences covering topics such as: "Trends and Opportunities in IT Staffing"; "How to Win at VMS"; "Marketing Yourself in Today's Economy" and "Increasing Profitability through Offshore Recruiting Resources". Ms. Solanto has been quoted in trade and business publications such as Bloomberg, Business 2.0, and Staffing Industry Analysts. Ms. Solanto was also recognized as one of SF’s Faces sharing the spotlight with other local celebrities including Mayor Brown. She was also a finalist for the 2005 STEVIE Awards Best Young Entrepreneurs.

Prior to starting Foundation Systems, Ms. Solanto worked as a management consultant for Ernst & Young in New York advising Global 50 companies on systems development and integration. Ms. Solanto earned her Bachelors of Business Administration degree in Management Information Systems (MIS) from the University of Notre Dame and originally hails from the Bronx, NY.

Jim Coughlin, Managing Director, Foundation Systems, Inc.
Jim Coughlin has been a leader in the  executive recruiting and corporate outplacement industries in the San Francisco Bay Area for over 20 years. In 1989 he successfully negotiated the sale of a $3 million corporate outplacement firm headquartered in Cupertino, California.  As Business Services Manager of the Silicon Valley offices of PTA International, Inc, he grew sales from $8.9 million to $27 million in 4 years.  He negotiated several multi-year recruiting contracts with such companies as Conner Peripherals, Cirrus Logic, Sun Microsystems and Xerox P.A.R.C.  In 1996 he co-founded StarTemps, Inc. which grew from $900,000 in sales to an $18.5 million recruiting organization in 4 years.  The company specialized in technology and administrative recruiting and staffing, employing over 55 direct employees, 550 contractors and generating over 2,200 W2's in 2000.  Mr. Coughlin is a two-term past-President of the California Association of Personnel Consultants (95'-97).  He is also a Certified Employment Specialist. 

Mr. Coughlin's focus at Foundation Systems since 2004 has been managing the Direct Hire Placement practice within the enterprise security, software and storage marketplace.  Mr. Coughlin lives with his wife and twin teenage daughters in Pleasanton, California.  He is an avid yoga practitioner.

Shiv Kumar, Director of Recruiting Operations, Foundation Systems Staffing, Pvt. Ltd. Shiv has over 6 years of international recruiting experience and holds a Masters degree in Computer Science. Prior to joining Foundation, Shiv worked for 3 years in a US staffing firm. He was involved in the end-to-end recruitment process of professionals at all levels in IT and business functions.

As a Director of Recruiting Operations at Foundation Systems Staffing Pvt. Ltd., Shiv supports our team in utilizing various recruitment methods and strategies; meets the targets set and efficiently manages the HR, administrative and operations functions of the India entity. His in-depth knowledge of the recruitment process and team management skills will continue to support the success of Foundation Systems, Inc.

Shilpa Shivalingam, Director of US Account Management, Foundation Systems Staffing, Pvt. Ltd.
Shilpa delivers over 9 years of experience in the areas of recruitment and account management. Prior to joining Foundation Systems, Shilpa worked for one of the leading staffing firms in India for 7 years which provided her an opportunity to assume the challenging role of developing and managing their recruitment functions. As a Key Account Manager, she was involved in the recruitment of professionals at all levels such as engineering, telecom, logistics and customer care.

As the Director of US Account Management of Foundation Systems Staffing, Pvt. Ltd., she works closely with a team of account managers to provide the highest value to our clients, process documentation to our staff and ensures smooth delivery of qualified candidates.
